On Cypher 018 - Tracklib, Producer Dojo’s Class of 808 created original songs using a song of their choice from the Tracklib catalog as the starting point. Metasine created “On The Rocks” using some saxophone performances sampled from “Horn Section 11” by Uptown Horns. On “Carousel” Cryptochronica sampled an infectious piano riff from “The Show” by Statik Link. Memory Code’s ”Strong As Death, Sweet As Love” repurposed the piano, bass and cymbal bell from “Who Took The Sun Away” by The Satin Dolls. The EP closes with Tao Moon’s “Descending” which drew inspiration from the Vocals of “Get Down” by Abo Ghets Ghetsa. Sampling is a powerful compositional approach and Tracklib makes it so easy for producers to license music for commercial use.
