Contagion is the Epitome of art imitating life.

While taking into account the current events of the year 2020, the Contagion EP delivers a stark, yet refreshing representation of the state of the world through the art of bass music. As the first ominous pad seeps its way into your ear canal it’s quickly apparent that MESSEA has something just a little different in store for the listener. From the hypnotic intros into the crusty mutilated bass lines this EP really aims to put the listener in a post-apocalyptic atmosphere akin to that of the environment of "I am Legend" or "Resident Evil."   This EP finds its home in a rough half-time and Dnb/Dub infused dystopian world filled with shuffling percussive fills, melancholy motifs, and gritty vocal slivers that will keep you itching for the next drop. As MESSEA entangles you into his world you’ll have to constantly check your speakers for sludge build up as he delivers some truly filthy bass lines. Fumigation through frequencies is a spot on definition of the intention and execution throughout the Contagion EP.

MESSEA is the solo project of Jessie Cockshott. After coming up in the metal band LOWLIFE, Jessie dove head first into electronic music production as a therapeutic form of expression. The Contagion EP is the culmination of his dedication and hard work as a Ninja in the Producer Dojo Class of 808.
